Windows 7 Activation

Bit of a long shot but has anyone any idea of a site where I can key in a Windows 7 Product Key and see if it has been used?

I've tried a couple of those key checkers but if the relevant info is there then it's in code.
They basically provide a load of ID's and tell me which version of W7 it is.
I can install the Pro version I have in my possession and try activation but I'd rather not go through all that if there is a simpler way

I can't see Microsoft making that information public, and they control it, so "suck it and see" is likely to be the only way.

According to MS the only way to check your serial number is to install your windows and see if it passes activation

I know and that's why clever software writers find ways around such situations.
Key reveal apps or admin password editors for example.
Never mind....like I said...a long shot.

Did you manage to install and successfully activate your Pro copy of Win7 ?

My SSD only came today as a replacement for the original one which 'went missing in the post'.
I'm hoping to get stuck in Sunday afternoon all being well.
You have no idea how much I want to start now but family demands........
I'll most likely go straight for the Home Premium and pass on the Pro copy.
