Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

This is starting to annoy me.
When Windows 7 wakes from sleep it can't see the local network (internet access is OK)
Going into the Network Sharing Centre mapping the network shows all the devices but the devices aren't clickable including the Win 7 computer
A reboot always fixes it

Re: Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

Have you tried this:-
go to / Network adapter and properties/ Power management (tab). Turn off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
Might work.
Also does disabling and re-enabling the networkcard have the same afect as a reboot?

Re: Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

First one - already done
Second one - no but will try next time
It occurs to me that the Kaspersky NDIS Filter may be part of the problem so will play around with that as well

I know but

It refers to RDP however the bug affected shares as well

What sort of errors are you seeing in event viewer? Its much easyer to search with a error code.

Now that is interesting
I don't understand it as there isn't anything with address 0.0.0.0 and this is what Microsoft say http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/1c353ac7-f9cc-46c0-a62d-afba77425bc8.aspx

Re: Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

Thats very strange, you say the internet is working fine but not local MS share network, was going to say use a manual IP on the networkcard but that doesn't seem to be the problem.
Is that the only error?

Does this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/windows-7-no-dns-or-no-network... help Jim.

Re: Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

That is the only error I can see
The microsoft link doesn't appear to help as I don't have any virtual network adapters

Re: Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

Seems to me to be a netbios error.
Have you tried changing Netbios from auto to on,
reinstall or update network card drivers,
reset tcp ip / Winsock,
disable win filewall.

"EVENT_NBT_DUPLICATE_NAME_ERROR"
This is why I thought the fix would work, you may not be logging out but it seems as if its trying to log in without logging out properly or something along those lines.

Re: Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

I too am using Windows 7 64 bit and my Kaspersky Internet Security has been playing up recently when the computer awakes from sleep, often reporting that it is off, although it seems to manage to eventually turn itself back on again.  So I suggest you investigate if your Kaspersky is giving problems.

Re: Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

FWIW
I'm not running Kaspersky Internet Security, (have MSE, Rapport, with Malwarebytes, Spybot and Ccleaner non active).
Have win 7 x 64 bit on two PC's, sometimes on awakening I get a message 'cannot connect to all your network drives' (I run 3 x NAS devices and have > 10 network drives mapped), but connection  is made after a 20 seconds (or so).

Re: Windows 7 64 bit - can't see local network when waking from sleep

Worked this morning but I did notice one difference
The network icon showed no network access for about 10 secs then came on
