Windows 10 users are being targetted for a scam.... read this...
Savvy users will recognise the scam... but less savvy users.. OAP`s and non computer literates could think it is the real thing... and get scammed by it...
Pass it on and explain it to anyone you think may be vulnerable.

@shutter I agree, this COULD fool a minority of people, but the grammatical errors should alert most people, even if they don't know that Microsoft wouldn't contact them this way.
The article itself falls down for me when it fails to explain how a user is going to get hit by the problem - visit a dodgy website, open a spam email, or how? If it gave this information, those of us who need to warn the less savvy would know what to look for or advise against.

@jab1 Yes indeedy... and a google search comes with this page...
Which, in itself, does not say "how" the scam is delivered... presumably an email attachment,. the usual .. "click here for more details" type request.
interestingly... this link also give a "free" way to disable the lock... which may or may not work on this years versions
This page, explains a bit more,
http://news.thewindowsclub.com/windows-has-been-banned-malware-90532/
and says...
Users, encountering the error message on their lock screen, must note, that that the malware is already installed on their system.
In such a scenario they should perform a malware check immediately and scan the PC for viruses and malware.
How to avoid getting infected
You should always avoid clicking on suspicious links in emails and visiting unknown entities on the internet. Keeping your PC up to date and using updated antivirus tools is necessary to keep such dangers away.

Windows 10 has already been banned in this house.
Typical that it wants to boast that it has been banned.
