Window moves partially off screen

Its an acer desktop with an acer tft monitor runnung xp
the image keeps moving off to the right
when opening a program window it also goes off to the right causing the right end of the window to bewcome hidden,
I discovered a fix by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F12 but this is only temporary
when i boot up again its off to the right meaning I have to press Ctrl+Alt+F12 every time
Could it be a graphics card problem or is there a fix?
Is anyone familiar with this problem?

Re: Window moves partially off screen

Could it be your monitor just needs adjusted manually, IE using buttons on your screen?

Re: Window moves partially off screen

Just a thought - you haven't set the screen resolution to a higher value than the physical screen size have you?
Some graphics drivers allow this and have a means (mouse or keys)  to move the viewable window over the larger virtual desktop.

No I checked that too and made sure that it was set to the correct setting.
I even experimented with others but the problem still persists
Thanks anyway
Thanks also to Thisoldman. I tried that too

Re: Window moves partially off screen

Have you tried changing the resolution to something else, then changing it back again?
Also check to see if there are any driver updates for your graphics adapter.

Try booting from a Linux Live CD - e.g. Ubuntu and check if you get Window drift...
