Realise this might be a taboo subject, but haven't been able to find clear answer by searching the help topics etc!
Is the use of file sharing prog's like WinMx barred/blocked by PN for users on BBYW Option 1? (or all options for that matter?)
Have tried temp' switching off firewall and going through std winmx procedures, but am wondering whether not being able to connect to the Winmx network is related to the "jungle" of port forwarding - or whether it's just plain not allowed on PN
Thanks & Hippy New Year to all!

Last time I heard, the WinMX network was dead.
Where were ways to get some response from it, but the RAAA had shut down the core servers, so there are only enthusiast really running it now.
Limewire works, although how well it works depends on a number of factors - your sync speed, your IP profile, the time of day and the package you are using.
If you are on BBYW option 1, I believe that the BEST you can expect from P2P such as winMX is 256kbs - although that is the best you can expect, at peak times it is rate limited well below that.

Thanks guys - WinMx does indeed to have ceased to exist / gorne to meet it's maker (& all the other Parrott sketch stuff!).
Limewire looks pretty good little prog & have upped usage limit - and may well go to Opt2 later - Most P2P use will be after 12pm, & only for occasional files so will see how things go.
Thanks again for the help
