If it's (1) then all email programs have an option setting to make them the default and will usually prompt you about it if they're not.
If it's (2) then right click the icon that starts your program and choose 'Pin to Start Menu' or 'Pin to Taskbar'.
There is also a mail setting in Control Panel but you probably don't need to use that.

You can also get to the internet options via the control panel without having to open Internet Explorer.

By choosing start>default programs>set you default program....outlook is not listed (my only email program).
When I try to email from web page I'm informed 'your default email program is not set'.
the microsoft example says 'set the default program' but does not tell me how to 'add it' to the list

Make Outlook the default program for E-mail, Contacts and Calendar
Does that do it?

It's exactly the same in Outlook 2003.

Quote from: RPMozley What web browser are you using? I think it's possible to bypass the windows setup within Firefox and set up a program to forward any mailto links.
IE8 and Crome, same result:-
@jelv:- tried that before I posted, I'm using outlook 2003:- (Still cannot send from a webpage, maybe the webpage is at fault!, never considered that
@RR:- didn't realise it was the same as outlook 2007, saves an upgrade! thankyou
