Will Plusnet Protect work with Windows 10?

I've registered to download the free upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7.
I was wondering if PlusNet Protect will work with Windows 10?

Thanks Oldjim
I suspected as much.
I've tried to cancel my reservation but it doesn't seem to work!

Re: Will Plusnet Protect work with Windows 10?

the reservation is just so you get told about the upgrade the day it gets released, and can choose to use your free upgrade any time you like within the first year.
although if the press release I saw last week about moving from w8.1 pro to w10 going to cost £150 then I wont be upgrading for quite some time /
as to w10, it will be supported by mcafee as their business products already are listed with support for it , it just might take a month or two which is rather similar to when w8 rolled out and not much consumer stuff claimed to support it

Indeed, so there's a pretty good incentive to upgrade sooner rather than later then Wink

I think if you reserve then the upgrade will be downloaded to your computer without you being explicitly aware of it.  If anyone is still on a broadband contract with a monthly download allowance then they might find that Windows 10 has used up a substantial chunk of it.

strange the link you provided also says pro versions have to go to w10 pro, which is not part of the free upgrade.......
and I got the info about pricing from here http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-goes-public-with-retail-pricing-for-windows-10-home-pro/ that's a price tag that will stop many people unless they offer the 24.99 1 month special like they did with 8.1pro (and even that will be expensive for me given the number of systems I will need to upgrade....)

????
The upgrade from Win 7 Pro/Ultimate or 8.1 Pro to Win 10 Pro is free as shown both in the Microsoft table and the page you have linked to.
The pricing shown is for upgrades after the 12 month offer period or for new installs ie fresh machines or those with OS's prior to Win 7

Fortunately I'm on unlimited but I can see that being a problem for some.

Re: Will Plusnet Protect work with Windows 10?

The reservation page makes it clear that a 3GB download is necessary for the upgrade so there shouldn't be any unforeseen data charges *although* it's not made clear when the download will happen...

Re: Will Plusnet Protect work with Windows 10?

The update FAQ suggests that it will be the same process as with 8.1 in that you will be presented with the option to get it from the store, for 7 users you are supposed to get an update available notification to use as you see fit.
But if you change your mind then just click the update icon in the taskbar hit the menu icon ( 3 horizontal lines in the top left) and uncheck the reservation /
