Wifi Dongle sig strength indication?

I seem to remember seeing a video on youtube a while back, that used various "reflectors" to improve wifi dongle signal strength, and to prove they worked they used a page with the signal strength indicated on a bar that increased when the "reflector" was used...  ( for reflector, use ..... flour seive, .... CD..... Coke Can... etc )
can anyone point me in the direction of this facility.... I think it is part of windows ,but don`t know where I would find it.....
(running Windows Vista Home Premium on this machine..... and W7 starter, on my other small laptop )...

What I want, is the actual page that shows the increase in signal strength when using the reflector.... where can I find that on my laptop (windows Vista home premium)...?

as far as i can see shutter , its the software that came with the dongle , not the windows software

Can you experiment with various "reflectors" / positioning, and monitor the wi-fi signal strength ?
On my iMac I have a couple of apps that measure signal strength.
iStumbler & WiFi signal.
There must be similar for PC's

Ok. guys... thanks... I think strat`s idea of inSSIDer might do the job..... not sure if the dongle has apage with the signal strength on it... will have to explore that when I have bought the flour sieve ! !
