The PlusNet newsletter is rather full of links to the "forums" (and none to the plusnet newsgroups). Even to volunteer to join the press pack, one had to register with the forums, then go through some sort of process - an email address would have served as well.
Of course, there's little point in my posting this here - it's just that the newsletter ended "Want to talk to us about anything in this newsletter? Then visit our Discussion Forums." and gave no other obvious feedback route! I realise that (unless the newsletter team read here) this is unlikely to be read by anyone other than a forum enthusiast, and also that unless they email me (which they can - they have my details!), I'm unlikely to see any response they do make.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the newsletter.
As we regularly publish articles and blogs on the Community site featuring the latest news from both PlusNet and the industry at large we decided (a while back now) that the best format for the newsletter would be to direct people to these articles.
If something is newsworthy enough to be included in the newsletter then there's an extremely good chance that it'll have been blogged on the Community site. You can read all the blogs, articles and forums without registering too.
As Adiewoo said PlusNet staff regularly visit these forums so any feedback that you give will be seen and responded to. We certainly don't want to be in a position where people cannot feedback to us on anything.

Well I read your post(!) and I haven't logged into USENET for what 8 years or something now? (it was a wrench but I took to a web-based world eventually BTW if you set your post to 'notify me of replies' in the Advanced settings you'd be alerted to any replies.

I think the forums are an ideal way of keeping in touch. I have often seen PN staff deal with problems that have been posted on a forum almost instantly. They're also a good way of getting to know other PN subscribers.

The community site is a direct link to the Plusnet offices and to all the other active customers. It puts you in touch with loads of opinions in a "live" setting. It has all the news which you can discuss immediately. If you call Plusnet on the phone then you get one person on the other end. Post something on the forums and you will get responses, guidance, sympathy or a laugh from staff members, other customers and all manner of specialist experts.
It's such a convenient way of communicating and that's why Plusnet are quite right to guide us all here for most things. Even if you don't use it now, you can surely see the benefits?
