Quote from: BenTrimble One of the main reasons we [Plusnet] went with Thomson for our new routers is because they provided better sync rates on longer lines compared to others, including Netgear...
Personally, I've found Netgear routers tend to be amongst the more reliable, long-term.

The deciding factor for me is that the Netgear permits remote management and emailing logs. The Thomson also allows remote management, but the password is reset when the router is power cycled and remote access can only be re-enabled from a local connection.
In my case, one remote site has some specialist hardware, and ADSL line plus router and no PC. In that case, the Netgear can be managed remotely

I've been through a lot of wireless routers in the past (D-link, netgear and ones with names I can't pronounce) - it is often the WiFi part of the router that lets me down. I've got this setup here now and works great:

Spent two days flashing software, changing channels etc but it kept dropping connections or the wireless channel or just freezing up. They have removed some functionality on it as well (emailing logs etc) . Wasn't impressed at all so now it gathers dust.
