What music player/manager for large collection ?

I have a large collection of audio (20K+), mostly mp3 but some flac/ogg/flv mixed in. (+Audiobooks)
What are people using to manager their collections? I used to use MediaMonkey (Gold fully registered  >:() under M$ but it isn't really stable under wine. I have tried:-
Banshee (latest version) but it falls over regularly and tag editing is a pita in it.
Rythmbox (from repo) but don't like the layout
Atunes - best so far but limited support for fixed size playlist - an essential to sync my 512Mb ipod
Clementine - ok ish
Exale - ...
I need to be able to :-
1. play the music
2. create RANDOM playlists of a fixed size (500Mb/1Mb/1.5Mb for my various players), excluding several categories if required and/or limit the duration of the track
3. Manage the music - move into a folder structure when importing etc
4. update and maintain the tags & covers
5. do all the above EASILY Cheesy
So any thoughts?

Yes I have vlc installed this is NOT about playing them more about MANAGING them, I want to do the other 4 things on my list and vlc will not do that.

Sad to say, I use nautilus.  Grin Grin Grin
I just play directories (each one is an album).
Bit simplistic, I suppose.
For the car, I just use nautilus to copy selected tracks onto a USB key...

Amarok seems to be widely liked, though it's a KDE app so if you use gnome (or unity :D) you'll end up installing half of the KDE front end to get it working. You could try running Mediamonkey or Foobar2000 in wine though, they're my preferred software on Windows (all my linux stuff is done on a headless box so no GUI I'm afraid)
Hope that helps,

guayadeque seems my favourite for now.

Apparently foobar works well under wine.
Its got good little features (e.g. tagging etc) and for free its one not to grumble about Smiley
Personally i manage the folder structure manually, as ive found nothing which does it in a way im happy with. (and im very OCD over my file structures...)
