Weird USB Drive behaviour (going in bin)

I have a 2yr old Medion 8GB USB drive that I use, to repair windows, via boot programs
The weirdness is
It will still boot up & run as normal (No issues there)
Upon inserting into Windows to check for updates etc It (Has gone very slow for Windows to show the files on the drive)
I can view the files in windows 7 or Vista
I can still dragndrop files to the drive
I can remove files from the drive
Windows complains that it needs a (scan and fix the drive) & I always make a rule to do so (straight away)
Yet as normal windows is not up to the task
So I thought I would format it & start again (NO CHANCE)
I have attempted to format via a right click stays @ 0% for as long as I let it & CMDline,  reports back (Windows was unable to complete the format)
I have also thrown at it
USB Disk Storage Format Tool at it, which is the 1st time it has ever let me down, as it says it can not find the drive (where I can view it in Windows) & it shows up as Drive E:
Rufus Another that has never let me down, just hangs for approx 5 minutes, here is the log

I have thrown Avast / MalwareBytes & came back clean (so they can recognise the drive & files on it)
Been tested on both Vista & Windows 7 (to rule out O/S issue(s))
Not going to waste anymore time with it
Time to invest in some new USB Drive(s) as I have few Medion's, before Windows fails to recognise the drive, & or it fails to bootup into the programs I need to use
