Webcam for skype with microphone suggestions please?

Right, I have a few friends who use skype so fancy getting webcam with microphone.  Confused when looking on Amazon as seem to be good few that are supposed to be good.  Logitech, Microsoft and a fancy red one look good [think make is Sogatel].  So am not sure which one to get?  Recommendations please under £20!!

I got a nice Logitech for someone a while back, but it's discontinued and the replacement was not visible the other day.
Tried a Sweex recently (cheaper at about £5) but the microphone quality was poorer and it needed a separate lead for the mic.
(Logitech was pure USB IIRC - a Quickcam E2500, about £15, worked very well with good "tuning" software)
You get what you pay for.

i use the microsoft lifecam vx-5000 gd all round cam. askin price is £40 at pc world tho. i bought a £10 logitech vga cam for my sister and that was pants

Buy the best you can afford because if you go cheap you will be disappointed. Be prepared to pay between £40 and £50 pounds.

I pinched the Eyetoy webcam from my kids' Playstation2, and found a driver on the 'net - that works a treat for me.  You might be able to get an Eyetoy cam on eBay

I use the Microsoft VX-1000 Webcam (Amazon Link) - very good value for money, Mic is good quality. Never had any problems with it at all, and Amazon currently have it on offer!

Have you tried using Skype without a webcam - spend the money on the phone?
You might find the webcam a bit of a gimmick - and you can use some digital cameras in a rather inferior webcam mode.

I have ordered that one now - thanks.  If I find that I start to use skype a lot and it is not so clever then I will go for better one.  But  you speak well of it SparckZero and the reviews on Amazon seem to be good.
