I have just come across this new tool for creating a bootable recovery disk for both Vista and XP and wondered if anyone has tried it.
This is the download site http://www.vistape.net/vistape.html and you don't even need a Vista install disk for the basic functionality
also a blog about using it http://grandstreamdreams.blogspot.com/2007/10/vistape-builder-tutorial-highly.html

I have used the Xp one for years as its part of the companies rescue disk and I have had the Vista one for a while. It raises a interesting point which I made in the WinUtuxU post if PE is legal then WinUtuxU could be legal if it uses the same code.
A lot of companies produce a version of PE for rescue disk as they are so easy to use just boot from the cd windows runs and you can copy you files off or change files. Using Barts software I created a few with Nero on so you can burn files to dvd from a dead system.
The only difference's with Vista is of coarse it uses Vista and as NTFS has changed with Vista its important to use it with the new system.
Even in a basic form they are great cd to have as they can get you out of all sorts of trouble

Thanks to Oldjim and samuria for this contribution. A bootable recovery disk is exactly what I was needing last week. I'm grateful for the links.
