Re: VPN internet failure on 4G.. but only while away?

I would... but rather interestingly (and perhaps conveniently?) we've got home and I've connected the VPN... internet throughput is still dead!

So now I'm in front of the PC and have a duff VPN connection between it and my phone perhaps between us we can get to the bottom of it?

Will leave VPN connected..

EDIT: Just as i've posted that, i've checked the phone and now the VPN works again - without having touched it. This is REALLY annoying..

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: VPN internet failure on 4G.. but only while away?

@bobpullen I'd be interested to hear your views on this - I've just logged into the router via vpn, hit the "Home Network" link (you know, the one that caused problems with the previous router) and suddenly my vpn internet dropped dead on my phone again (and then my vpn connection was terminated)..

Coincidence?

After reconnecting the VPN I cannot access the router AT ALL from my phone - but can from the desktop PC. Why is this?

Re: VPN internet failure on 4G.. but only while away?

Not my forté but I can't help but think you're asking for trouble having your VPN on the same subnet as the local network.
Like others, I have a VPN configured for access to my home network (OpenVPN), but haven't seen this when using a Hub One. My VPN is configured to use a different subnet though i.e. 10.8.x.x rather than 192.168.x.x
For info, my network status also shows blank gateway for the VPN. For my cell connection though, the IP and gateway are different.
Replicating the router behaviour is unlikely to be straight forward given the absence of Windows 7 machines I have access to, and I'd question the effort required given the aforementioned subnet sharing.
