I'm looking for a free piece of Windows software to install on a laptop and monitor a VPN connection.
I'm looking for it to detect when the VPN is established and when it is disconnected and to log a period of a month or greater.
I'm not interested in the traffic over the VPN.
Any assistance appreciated.

Hello Strat,
I use TightVNC (tightvnc.com), and I see from the options tabs that there's a logging option, with different levels of verbosity. I haven't used logging, but it's worth a look, and it's free.
