VMware workstation 8 & unbuntu

i have VMWARE workstation 8 running windows 7 guest in ubuntu ... for gaming
i have managed to get games running how ever i have a problem...
when im in games (steam Everquest and everequest 2) i have graphics distortion .... where building block shouod be i get black blocks i checked game settings and all seem well...
anyone have any ideas?

Try a lower screen resolution in the Windows client?

that seems to work .... as i cant run anything at all in 1024x768 (max for my monitor) but still have the black bopxes where building should be ... (main game im working on atmo) is sid meier's railroads (reason why) is its a low end game so if i manage to get that working properly others shouldnt be a problem
