Updating website - originally Madasafish & Freenetname

Hi,

I was with Freenetname which became Madasafish and is now Plusnet.

I have been updating my website using Mobirise software and have been publishing to it without a problem for a few years.

My old PC broke and having got a new one I haven't been able to get the correct settings needed to continue to publish.  Does anyone know what I should be using?  I've attached what I'm being asked for and I do know my original freenetname userid and password - assuming that is what I need!

The only information I have found is from an old madasafish webpage and this doesn't work!

Many thanks in advance.

Nigel

Re: Updating website - originally Madasafish & Freenetname

I've got one of those freebie websites that Plusnet gave out many years ago.

I use Filezilla for a GUI FTP.

Host = ftp.plus.net, default port

UserId & Password as used by internet (I think).

Plusnet insists on transmitting these as clear text.

Re: Updating website - originally Madasafish & Freenetname

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

A long time ago I used to use Filezilla to upload files but when I started using Mobirise as the webpage builder software I had to use their publish upload.

As far as I know, I don't have a plusnet userid or password and I get a "can't connect to server"  message when trying my freenetname account (not a surprise!) so filezilla isn'y helping I'm afraid.

I just can't find out what settings I'm supposed to use on the upload. 😞

Thanks

Nigel

If you sign-on (and maybe you can't) to https://www.plus.net/member-centre/home

Which you use to look at general Plusnet info, such as accounts etc then the required user name and password are the ones you would use for ftp.

Maybe you need to make an extremely long phone call? 😀

Re: Updating website - originally Madasafish & Freenetname

Hi

As you guessed I can't sign on.

The only thing I do with Plusnet is to access webmail - and I try not to do that very often!  For that I use my original freenetname email address and password.

A phone call might be the only option - any ideas who to call?

Thanks

Nigel

Hi Nigel,

Do the details found Here help?
