Unwanted application

I've downloaded 'kindle for PC' from Amazon, it has come with an additional package called BrowserSafeGuard, anyone know what it does?

Seems to be an enforced proxy which scans all you traffic to block anything suspicious.  But looks to be more of an issue itself, I would kill it.

This type of software often accompanies malware that changes your home page and search provider and then blocks attempts to change them back on the pretext of safeguarding your browser settings.
