These were forum style user names/passwords that were revealed.
Not Linux system user names/passwords.

The SMF forum's been hacked in a similar manner, which may or may not be related to the fact that one of their admins used the same login on the ubuntu forum.
I'm just off to shut a stable door.

Oh dear oh dear using the same user/password on different sites. Who would have thought to do that  Wink
I use LastPass to generate random passwords for each site, I will normally generate a special email addy for that site, or use one of my disposable ones.
