I have a Macbook with a Firewire port on the side, and a Firewire drive to plug in to it... However, I also could do with being able to use this drive on a computer with no firewire ports.
Does anyone know of anything that'd let me plug the Firewire drive in to a USB port?
My knowledge of Firewire is non-existent, unfrotunately.

Is the HDD inside accessible? If so, I'd consider buying an enclosure that supports USB and FW and installing the HDD in that - more expensive than a cable would be, but I'm really not sure I'd trust a cable to reliably convert from USB to Firewire as they're pretty different.

Any good?
http://www.usbfirewire.com/Parts/rr-527950.html
I'd have serious doubts about it myself for a disk drive.
Is it possible to put a firewire card in the computer you want to connect to?
Regards,
Neil
