Hi,
I can anyone tell me is it ok to disable UPnP in my netgear router, at the moment it just has a check box that checked so I take it enabled, I been hereing from people that in Windows UPnP device and SSDP Discovery. Can cause problums in Windows 2000 and XP, Vista
Any advice will be helpfull thanks.

Always OFF on my DG834GT. No problems.

Thanks I turned it off, rebooted the router and all is working ok

If you are a windows MSN messenger user you may find that the file transfer and some other features don't work, though that's probably a good thing

UPnp off here, running MSN Messenger on 3 PCs on the network, never had a problem with file transfer, voice calls or anything.
Go with the flow, turn it off, you don't need it.
