Re: UPS problem

I ran that for 80 minutes - voltage dropped to about 11.5V when I stopped it. Definitely nothing wrong with the battery.

Does the UPS show its charging the battery when you put it back ?

Re: UPS problem

Last thing to check is any reset switch on the back then the internal fuses - they tend to look like car blade fuses.

Re: UPS problem

There's only a single 'on' light - nothing to indicate it is charging.
There were a couple of fuses inside - they were OK.

Just tried that, it's currently saying charging, 42%.

Re: UPS problem

Leave it till it shows fully charged and then see what happens when you drop the mains.

Re: UPS problem

Overnight it fully charged. I then connected the data cable only while leaving the power to the PC via other means. The only thing I had plugged in to the UPS power sockets was one of those little usage meters that also shows you the voltage.
When dropped the power to the UPS Powerchute popped up to say it was running on battery, the alarm started sounding on the UPS, and the power output from the UPS dropped to zero.

The inverter is broken?

I think that is looking more and more likely.
When I opened it up I couldn't see any sign of component damage.
