Transferring photographs

swmbo has some photographs on a iphone and want's me to print some of them.

I have 2 printers, one laser which is wifi enabled but is rubbish for printing photos and a Canon ip4500 which is excellent but is not wifi enabled, wired connection to desk top running both Linux and Windows.

I would rather not go online with windows as it's well out of date and only use Linux when on line.

Having described the above unusual set up is there any easy way to get these photographs printed ?

Re: Transferring photographs

How do you get a photo off of an iphone?

I don't use mobiles...Cheesy

There are numerous methods of displaying / printing photos in Linux, including album management.

I use digiKam to hold 15 years of digital photos - it can copy metadata to a database.

But there are dozens of others.

Re: Transferring photographs

Fix

To be honest I don't use mobiles either but if I did it would be a android one on the grounds of cost.

Will have a fiddle around re your suggestion for Linux but if I fail/ get fed up I see there are a number of IOS apps that allow you to get the prints done by some online company so I guess swmbo may have to pay up.

Re: Transferring photographs

Possibly depending on the Linux distro, but it should recognise/mount the iPhone and you would just use whatever file manager the distro comes with to copy the files off.

Or just use Dropbox or similar to sync files from IPhone to Linux machine.

iTunes doesn't work on Linux.

Re: Transferring photographs

No need for iTunes as

1. There is a Windows PC available

and

2. from the link

Then, follow the steps in these Microsoft knowledge base articles to learn how to import photos to Windows Photo Gallery:
