More things seem to be getting touch screens these days but as they get older do they get less sensitive ?
There are times when using a 2 year old tablet it takes 5 or 6 attempts to get a response, in some cases no response at all.

I flog a fair few old mobiles and I've never seen any evidence of that.
That said you can get a little corrosion on the touchscreen connector that can develop over the years.
Doesn't take a lot. Moving devices between hot and cold environments and you get some inevitable condensation.
Often ending up with a small area on the screen that's doesn't respond well if at all.

I suppose on the tablet there could be some all consuming background process running that momentarily halts other inputs?
