Text Messages to mobiles

Hello,
I am a Linux Mint Helena user and I want to be able to send text messages from the Internet to mobile phones and
particularly to Vodafone mobiles.
Have you folks any suggestions for software apps that might do the job? The whole process has to free, as in no cost.
I have googled a lot but I have not found anything that screams THAT'S IT!!

Here's a list of possibles, which allow sending SMS from the web, so you can use and old browser.
