Re: Tablet Virus

I don't really know the answer but Avast offer a free Mobile security suite which I use on all my Android devices (phones and tablets).

Re: Tablet Virus

As usual, user behaviour is the best defence, don't be sideloading apps from dodgy sources etc you should be fine.
Though you can always install lookout, avast etc if it makes you feel better.

It is impossible for me to suffer from viruses on tablets and iPads.  Smiley

Re: Tablet Virus

The real threat on tablets at the moment is not virus's but malware injected into the app when delivered from a "dodgy" source. There have even been some on play store which have been removed. I use Hornet AV on my tablet, it seems to find stuff the others miss.

Re: Tablet Virus

Have just installed Hornet on one of my Kis phones to give it a try - it's currently giving it a full scan and as just beeped that device is safe.
That said I never touch dodgy apps.

I Do not have a tablet for the very reasons you give, however I have been impressed with photos viewed on the ipad3 and above with retina display. I Take a lot of photographs but could not justify the price just to view photographs.
Some of the apps are also impressive such as the ability to check in real time commercial aircraft currently in flight or to point the ipad in the direction of the sky to see and identify planets and stars but for me these would be gimmicks so whilst impressive would not justify the cost.
