After a lot of advice from people on here I'm going to order the above router modem for when fibre is connected next week. At present I've got a sky hub on normal broadband with sky wifi extender upstairs. Can the sky extender work witht the TP link or would I need to buy another extender. If so which one would you guys recommend. Doesn't. Need to be that fast as only really used for sky on demand on the sky box

It should work fine, you will need to re-associate it with the tp router, or change the new wifi ssid/pw to the same.

I would also make sure your new W9980 is running the latest firmware before you set it up.
Latest firmware release is dated 15/12/2014.
I to have the W9980 running on PlusNet fibre & it's a fantastic bit of kit, easy to set up, plus gives excellent wireless coverage & speed throughout my house.

Thanks. I didn't want to buy another extender.
