Re: System files unaccessible

"Start - Run - and enter 'explorer' (without the quotes) into the 'Open' box and press OK?
What happens if you right click on the 'Start' button and click 'Explore'?"
Both these options result in the same old, same old!
I've tried running the Avast programme but it didn't find anything.

Re: System files unaccessible

Thanks for that info Neil.
At the moment I'm running some checks that my anti virus (Panda) tech boys have given me and I'm waiting for them to assess a log file I've sent.
If that turns up nothing I'll gingerly begin to try a repair - freaks me out this sort of stuff as, although I work wih computers most days, I'm not familiar with all that's 'under the bonnet'!
Cheers, NeilC
