I have all my music on my desktop, but backed up on an external hard drive attached to a different PC. Every so often I back up the music ( and pictures and EMails ) to this drive by copying them manually. I have mapped the external HDD as a separate drive in explorer.
I thought there was a way of synchronising the 2 in windows (XPSP2) but having found something called synchronise manager (and read the windows help) I'm none the wiser. I've shared my music but it and my other shared folders are not there to synchronise.
I have Home XP and the Windows Backup facility isn't in there. I have no Windows CD either as the OS was preinstalled
I wasn't looking to pay out for this function (I know many of you speak highly of the acronis product)
Copying stuff over manually is a chore and it would be great to automate it (in whole or part)
