Using Firefox - typed into Google: long range weather forecast for South Yorkshire (hoping for some good news).
Clicked on a link mobil247 - should have checked first as now it does look suspicious.
Got a screen about malware www1.hotcleanofyourpc.com. I clicked the x to cancel and it began to run a 'scan' and wanted me to download a .exe file - obviously I didn't.
Switched computer off, ran CCleaner, Kaspersky, Defender - all OK.
Put NoSrcipt on and clicked on same link - just a page of text this time so I reckon I will have go stick with this addon although it does annoy me a bit.
Tried it on IE8 and guess what? It recognised it immediately as a poison page containing malware and asked if I wanted to be redirected to my home page.
Have always been a keen FF user but now am beginning to wonder if IE is actually better.
Opinions please?
