Sort of hardware'ish
I have run some extra Cat5E cables in while I had the house in bits recently and want to run telphone cicuits over them. How do I get the telephone cicuits into the structured wiring? I.e. given a telephone master socket on the wall (into which a standard BT telephone plug fits) and a nearby RJ45 patchpay where the Cat5 cables are terminated, how do I connect them?
The other end I need to use LAU adapters that connects the RJ45 wall socket to a standard BT telephone socket for the phone to connect to (in this case a 'Secondary' since it is after the BT master socket and is therefore acting like a standard extension)
Thanks for any advice and pointers
Mike

Neat.
I must admit that I just punch a spare pair into a BT socket.

I've got a cat5 cable punched in to the BT main socket ond down to a patch panel - patch it onto a few other sockets on the patch panel, then a secondary line adapter from Maplin to connect at the telephone end.
Wiring diagram for punching into the BT socket ... http://www.britishtelephones.com/rj45.htm
Maplin Line Adaptor ... http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=22940&doy=3m9
Works great for me
