Strange

Hi

I get the attached response when I try to follow a tracking link in an email from eBay. Using Outlook 2013. My account is a personal one and no organization is involved.

Any ideas why?

Dave

Re: Strange

Are you using your personal eBay account on work's PC? That's almost always a BIG no no.

Re: Strange

Try using a different browser..... FIrefox..... Falkon.... Opera.   and see if it still happens..

Maybe it is a "setting" that has gone "rogue" during an update on your browser...

Re: Strange

@daveplus Just following on from @shutter - if this is a Hotmail addy, have you tried to follow the link via the Hotmail browser link, rather than via Outlook? I keep reading and hearing that the program can be a bit 'picky' - no personal experience as I haven't used MS programs wherever there is a less complicated alternative. 😄

@jab1 @shutter

Thanks for the advice. Going into the account via outlook.live.com gets me where I need to go. It is the Outlook application in my Office 2013 that has the problem, so I will try another installation of Office to see what happens.

Re: Strange

@daveplus  you could also download, and install..... Open Office..... or the other version Libre Office,

Which are not MS products,... but are supposed to be "compatible" with MS Office and work in the same way.

This would negate the same situation happening again.

Incidentally,  it might be worth downloading and installing Both... because the have slightly different ways of working on the page input ... and you may be more "familiar" with one, than the other...

Difficult to explain.. but give them both a try out and see what you think.

Re: Strange

@daveplus A long shot, but are you using Windows 10 Pro with any 'Group Policies' set?

Re: Strange

@198kHz

Thanks for asking that because I think that I might have but not sure when!. But last week I upgraded my main installation to Windows 11 so that may be relevant. It has some quirks but is very stable and runs all my main applications. Will report the outcome.
