Stopping Kontiki - Sky Player

If I install Sky Player it uses Kontiki to mess up my usage.
I understand that, even when you aren't using Sky Player, it continuously uploads.
Is there a relatively simple set of instructions somewhere for disabling it.

Re: Stopping Kontiki - Sky Player

Is it not just in the startup group?
Pretty sure the BBC one was and that used kontiki too.

Re: Stopping Kontiki - Sky Player

As I understand it the Sky system uploads continuously even when you aren't using the program.
One way round it is to use Task Manager to stop the processes khost.exe and kservice.exe

Re: Stopping Kontiki - Sky Player

There was a utility that I had when iPlayer was P2P that dealt with Kontiki - now what was it called...?
Edit: Still struggling to remember/find it, which is annoying because it did all the TV downloaders (not just BBC) and it's exactly what you want. Sad

Re: Stopping Kontiki - Sky Player

Nope - that's to remove it.
This was a program that would start and stop the service at defined times - and I still can't remember what it was called. It was downloaded from a blog page and I have a feeling it was northsomethingorother... but I could be totally confused with something else! Embarrassed

TV On-Demand Monitor developed by 7Northfield
The blog I got it from is now invited readers only: http://odmonitor.blogspot.com/ There's another blog associated with it http://thetechnophile.blogspot.com/ which is also blocked.
There's a download here: http://tv-on-demand-monitor.software.informer.com/ - but without access to the blogs I can't tell how up to date that is.
