Quote from: Javert Please can anyone tell me a way to start Windows 7 in Safe Mode? I’ve followed the instructions from Microsoft - “Press and hold f8 as your computer restarts” - but to no avail. I have tried this at least five times!
Does it otherwise boot normally?
York.

http://www.glarysoft.com/absolute-uninstaller/
have a shortcut on the desktop for it, and it is easier to access than the windows normal add/remove
quicker to load the list of programs installed, uses the same "look" as windows

The “Staccato” Method worked! Is it similar to the Rhythm Method?
I removed the Kaspersky product using their “Removal tool” as I recall that removing by other Uninstall programs leaves parts behind - which have to be removed before you can install your new program. Using the aforementioned tool removes everything! I do use the Revo Uninstall program for everything else.

I've had to use the relevant "Removal Tool" on many an antivirus install, though very rarely to get rid of Kaspersky.
It's regularly the other way round though, a "properly removed" AV product (using normal Control Panel options) is still detected by Kaspersky which then refuses to install.
