Squirrel web mail is very slow

So I got Thunderbird and guess what...All I get now when asking for PN mail is "waiting for Plusnet"  and then after a few minutes "Connection timed out" !
Is that enough proof about the slowness of squirrel.

Good question 
A short answer is I don't know...but because I am on Thinderbird at the time, then it must(?) be Thunderbird....but it all happens within a few moments so I wonder if it's some other fault.

well yes as Thunderbird does not go anwhere near squirell, no trouble with mine except that AVG fires up checking the mail but not downloading it on Win 7

Can you confirm that you configured Thunderbird to use IMAP and not POP3 please (you will have selected the server type as IMAP and entered the server name as imap.plus.net instead of mail.plus.net).

Yes, i configured to IMAP  as imap.plus.net..............................

or were you talking to me John?  I have one address to IMAP and six to POP3 and the same Thunderbird It works apart from the scans with AVG
the Sue one is IMAP
