Spellcheck

My Thunderbird spellcheck also worked for me on the forums but it has stopped do so.  Is there a setting to switch this back on? It's working fine on my emails.

Re: Spellcheck

I think you are getting confused with Thunderbird for emails.  i am looking for it to work in the forums again.

Re: Spellcheck

Tools | Options | Advanced | Browsing
Tick the Spelling box
BUT
despite having a tick in that box, it's stopped working for me too.
I thought it was just my poor, old, overloaded, bloated, overdue for a change XP box, but maybe not.
Like you, it still works in Thunderbird, so if I'm doubtful I just compose my replies in an email window & cut & paste.

Re: Spellcheck

@ Simon M, that's interesting.  Wonder what's happened Undecided  I think initially this is something Oldjim came up with.  Maybe he will remind us what he told us.
I know it works OK on my home PC but I'm currently abroad for another 3 weeks.  If we haven't got it sorted by then I will have a look into it on my return.

Re: Spellcheck

Good point Pierre - looks like a Firefox upgrade had removed the dictionary. Now reinstalled & working.
I see it doesn't like the spelling of Firefox though!

Re: Spellcheck

Just checked out the Firefox forum and it is a known problem.  Just re-installed the dictionary and all is now back to normal.  It even spells Firefox OK Smiley

Re: Spellcheck

Ah, that would probably explain why when I recently installed Firefox on a new PC it didn't install the British Dictionary I had to add it manually.

Re: Spellcheck

Hmm. I installed the British English one [ver 1.19] & it didn't like firefox or Firefox. Have you been training yours, Pierre? I've added Firefox to mine now, so it's happy & so am I.
(Not quite so happy with Firefox though - it still leaks memory summat awful)

Strange because it's correct in the US version.  It should be spelled with a capital 'F' though.
