Speed test result when tethered very low

I have just been playing about to see whether I would have any problems tethering my Win 10 laptop to my Homtom mobile phone and to avoid potential high data usage (I am on on PAYG with O2) I did it when connected to my internet wireless connection

The good news is that tethering via USB cable worked without any problems

Now to the reason for this post

Running the TBB speedtest via Firefox on the phone I get speeds of about 20Mb/s but running it on the laptop when tethered via USB connector only gives about 2Mb/s

Any thoughts as to why there should be this disparity

Re: Speed test result when tethered very low

Hmm... That's interesting Jim. From your first post I would have guessed it was the USB connection that was slowing things down but that seems to not be the case. That just leaves the phone itself and how it's managing the sharing of the connection.
That's RPM to you!!

Default MTU on Windows 10 is 1500 - try setting the Local Area Connection to 1024, reboot, and run the test again.
