Re: Spam email - who gave them my address

Hi
I got this one too, including the first name in the "Dear ..."  I also haven't registered with them, but thought maybe one of my sons had.  Now I've changed my mind.

Re: Spam email - who gave them my address

That's one advantage with having your own domain name, you can use whatever you like for email addresses.  I use things like gas@domain.co.uk  plusnet@domain.co.uk - that way if you get spam to any of the addresses you know right away who has leaked (sold) your email address.  The biggest problem I've had is with ebay. I'm on something like ebay6@ now.  I just keep changing the prefix and blocking the old one at my webhost who have a feature to divert specific email addresses to 'null' - ie dump them.

I've received that also - but it was to the unique email address I used with Computer Shopper.
