I haven't use Sourceforge for ages to download anything
I went to d/load / install a fresh updated version of Filezilla from their mirrored sourceforge @ http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/postdownload?source=dlp
& I was faced with a bundled software Downloader that stays on the top of other applications, like the adobe downloader / installer does
Are these companies trying to make us stay away from them ?
& it failed to intstall Filezilla however it did download (FileZilla_3.8.1_win32-setup [1]) to the downloads folder

I know about unchecky, & also to untick / tick boxes accordingly
My tutorial is to show the current state of affairs
No offence wrongtw
It is coming across as you being a spammer or other type of advertising agent on this product
Rather than posting & providing just a link & as you are so adversed on the product, why do you not create a tutorial thread using the links in this thread for your example ?

I downloaded something from sourceforge a while back (php code i think) and didn't face that hassle (mind you with php scripts you wouldn't expect to).
I am shocked though that SF has decided it also wants in on the "we gotta have something installed on the users system to allow us to sneak junk onboard" market.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

@rongtw
This "unchecky" that you've suggested - I don't think much of the you tube video where they "show" it "working" as it's not as clear as it could be for the unwitting user who is the person usually caught out by these things. Nor does it give many examples of the commonly downloaded stuff, Java was the only example, what about Adobe Flash!!
What sort of overhead does "unchecky" have?
I note they claim it automatically updates, so I presume it "phones home" - is that feature user controllable/selectable?
