SmartWatch Launch

Would you pay £220 for the new Apple Smartwatch?
Smartwatch
it is being launched in the US today. Other manufacturers have already introduced smart watches but they haven't really been successful.

Re: SmartWatch Launch

A watch is a thing with pointers which tells the time (I don't need glasses for that unlike digitals with small numbers)

Re: SmartWatch Launch

I have to agree with you there Jim. Chances are the hardest thing to do is to use the watch to tell the time Wink

Re: SmartWatch Launch

I've had digital watches when I was younger but now I need a watch with hands.
With a smart watch I would need my glasses on so...not interested.

Re: SmartWatch Launch

I've got a pebble smartwatch, helpful to see who's calling before deciding whether to take my phone out of my pocket to answer Wink

Plus 1!
I wear glasses all the time, but when I'm in bed I can make out the pointers on mine but not the digi bits!  Shocked

Re: SmartWatch Launch

never been able to tell the time on a dial without stopping for a few minutes to work it out, and half the time getting it wrong due to face orientation /
don't see the point in the current crop of smart watches as there limited to being within range of the phone and its just as much hassle to pull the phone out of the pocket as it is to pull up the sleeve to read the watch /
some of the modern digital watches have decent illumination features that provide an easy to read time regardless of wither or not glasses are being used  Wink
as for the apple watch, its double the price for the same or less functionality of other brands, just like everything else they make all fur coat and no knickers /
just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you

Or going to be available until april I believe. So just going to be a tedious rehashing of the previous tedious 'event'

You must be joking. Apart from the fact it's made by Apple I really don't see the point of them.
Will it help me to understand what SWMBO really means?
Smart this, smart that - the prices are enough to makes your eyes smart Wink
As for digital vs analogue I always find I get the time quicker from a glance at an analogue face than digital.

Re: SmartWatch Launch

I prefer digital watches.
Casio W86 is my everyday watch, has been for the last 20+ years, think im on number 4 at the moment Grin
Its cheap & it tells the time reliably, fits the description of a wrist watch perfectly  Cool

Re: SmartWatch Launch

I have a very smart watch. It is as smart as I program it to be and it also has a built in RF transmitter so I can remote control devices.
It is one of these beasties :

Unfortunately I haven't even got round to wearing it let alone programming it but one day .......
