'Sexy' router?

It may be an oxymoron to most people but I saw a new router coming out of Belkin's offices
It's called the 'N1 Vision' router and there is a photo here - http://www.slipperybrick.com/2007/07/belkin-n1-vision/
It's a high-speed 'n' router with a screen on the front telling you uploads and downloads. I expect there will be other views to come later.
What does everyone think? Want one of those on your shelf? Should we at PlusNet consider offering this type of kit with our broadband products?

Re: 'Sexy' router?

Is it sad that I really like the look of that? Much better than the HomeHub/Livebox and such like IMO.

Re: 'Sexy' router?

Just had another look at that pic...
Download:1260 kbps Upload: 284 kbps
I ALWAYS get confused with bits and bytes...
Does that mean the Belkin in the pic is (allegedly) downloading at 1.26 megabytes a second and uploading at 284k a second?

Re: 'Sexy' router?

Nope... if it's a small b it's bits, a capital B and it's bytes. The router will be downloading at about 126 kilobytes and uploading at about 28 kilobytes (per second).
Wow, I never thought I'd be correcting God.
Hope this helps,
God

Re: 'Sexy' router?

Peace be with you orbrey...
I am just suprised that they didn't decide to beef the speed up for a publicity shot. I get 800 kBps or so on my trusty Netgear... Maybe the photographic studio was a long way from the exchange  Grin
Mind you, hmmm.. it still looks delicious!

Re: 'Sexy' router?

Hmm not bad but for true 'shineyness' where the heck is the touchscreen?
Not that I'd complain if you send me a free one to test...
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: 'Sexy' router?

Very very pretty.  Although I can't have one.  If I do, then I would need a new PC to compliment how gorgeous it is, and as I have 3 PCs in various states of build around the house, the Mrs will not let me have one.  And although she is only 4 foot 10, she can still throw me over her shoulder.  Im 6 foot 2.

It's all good and well that it looks gorgeous; but what will the web interface be like?
I do want one though.  Smiley

Re: 'Sexy' router?

Almost had me getting my wallet out, I'm in the market for a new router. Alas only VPN-passthrough, my next router *must* be a proper VPN endpoint.
