Set up Thunderbird on Ubuntu 9.10

Drag and drop works fine for me on Thunderbird 3. I'm running debian lenny, not that that should matter.

Thanks for replies. When I googled this, I found multiple threads which indicated that it was not a function of Thunderbird and when I tried it I had no success. Will have to have another go.

Works for me too!
I suspect it probably wouldn't allow you to drag unsent mail to your inbox etc, without sending it first!
