You could gain AHCI support by adding something like an ASM1061 PCI Express card, if you have a free slot. I probably wouldn't bother though.

that's something to consider in the future cx. i only have sata 3gbs so i should see an increase in speed to 6gbs.
my one remaining slot is pcie 16 though for graphics cards but i've just watched a guy on youtube fit the pcie 1 into a pcie 16 cause it is faster and it works.
lots to think about.
