Re: SSD Offers

ISTR that SSD was about £150 around December 2015, as posted by @nanotm on the old forum.

So not really that cheap - I might buy one if someone offers it again at £150 in the not too distant future.

Apologies, I hadn't tried applying the discount code 'SSD' to the offer, which takes it down to £159.99  Embarrassed

Re: SSD Offers

Yeah its not a bad price, they did go a bit cheaper in December you are right but £160 is quite good for the time being.

Certainly better than the £200+ they usually are

Re: SSD Offers

If I didn't already have a 500gb SSD I would pick one of these up for sure. Moving to SSD was one of the best decisions I have ever made when I built my PC last year. Windows boots up in a matter of seconds!

Re: SSD Offers

You cant go back after you have one thats for sure @jaread83.  You quickly get used to everything loading so nicely but when you go back to a PC with a platter based drive it feels like its running through treacle!

Re: SSD Offers

Booting Windows on a 'traditional' rotating hard drive now seems like loading a game off a cassette tape on a Sinclair Spectrum.

As you say, once you've gone to SSD you'll never want to experience mechanical hard drives again (at least not for OS booting).

Re: SSD Offers

Sprectrum loading screens.. those memories of knowing I had enought time to make a cup of tea after starting the process off. Good times!

Got Windows on my SSD and I keep my games on a hybrid drive to save space. Might put one of my main games on the SSD but I don't mind the loading times for games to be honest.

Re: SSD Offers

SSDs dont make all that difference to game loading times in all honesty.

Im now running a PC with a 250GB Samsung SSD boot drive and a 1TB SSD for storage.  Main reason was how quiet the pc is now...  its lovely Smiley

Re: SSD Offers

Old news I know but the Sandisk deals may have something to do with this:
