I have been trying to set up a wireless connection between my Plusnet Technicolor TG582n router and my Humax HDR-Fox T2 PVR so I can watch i-player on my TV. I have put a wireless adaptor into the back of the PVR but it does not detect my Plusnet router even though it picks up my neibghour’s Belkin router.
It is possible to enter details of the router manually instead of using auto-detect. I have tried this but I have had difficulty entering the security details of the Plusnet router from the drop down list, does anyone know which option I should choose from the following:
WPA-PSK(TKP)
WPA-PSK(AES)
WPA2-PSK(TKIP+AES)
WPA-PSK(AES)
I could use Home Plugs to distribute the signal but there is no spare socket near the router which is plugged into an extension lead, do Home Plugs work from extension leads?

Choosing WPA2-PSK(TKIP+AES) should be OK. You will need the pre-shared key which is printed on the plastic card that came with the router or can be displayed by logging into the router GUI and going to Home Network->WLAN then Details (top right).
