Rootkits

AVST  has been flagging up that a rootkit exists on my windows installation and identifies the following files,
CTMSHD.sys
CTMMount.sys
CTMFlt.sys
However it goes on to say not to remove these files.
Does anyone know of a free way to repair whatever these files refer to ?
There are stacks of programs that are free to download and check your system but require payment for repairing the file.
I already have ASC professional (paid for version) but that does not seem to shift it and as I am now exploring the use of Linux I do not wish to be dishing out more money to solve a problem in windows.
I assume a fresh installation of windows would sort out the problem but would be grateful for any advice.

Re: Rootkits

Try Malwarebytes free.
There's no requirement to pay to fix problems.

Re: Rootkits

CTM apparently stands for Comodo Time Machine.  Are you actually using Comodo software?
