Reversible USB cable / connectors

It is annoying to have to get the polarity / alignment of many cables correct to insert the connector into the appropriate socket.
Especially USB connectors which may be plugged frequently
Now a reversible USB connector / socket is on the way.
Personally, I just stick a small blob of Blu-Tak onto the upwards facing side of the connectors, for USB, HDMI etc
For myself, mainly for mobile phone charge cables, daily !!
With mini and micro connectors.

Tipp-ex would be a good alternative. (other makes available)

USB cables have a symbol on one side to show you which way up it should go.

Understood, but difficult to see, especially in low light, or shaded, or round the back of an item, or inserting by touch ....
Or Vertical.
USB sticks with no indication of polarity benefit too.

And phone connectors, the bit that plugs into the phone, are just plain minuscule

Perhaps a small pot of luminous finger nail paint might do the trick if you have no tippex

Can you see any of the guys on here going to the make up shop(s) to purchase "luminous finger nail paint"
I can just imagine the funny looks from the staff & customer(s) of the shop(s) in question

I have a USB drive caddy that needs two USB leads (power & data). One of my cables (data) has the logo on the top and the other (power) has it on the underside! 
Go figure.

I always go by the join in the metal as this always seems to be the underside.

It would help if manufacturers would keep them all the right way up, (as an industry standard) instead of swapping them around on different models et al

That is ok on on the plug itself
What happens when you got to be a contortionist in a clients Business / Home when they have their devices hidden in cupboards et all that have been D.I.Y Built custom made that one would spend more time un-nailing / un-screwing etc than the it would take to fix the device in question, & they have not thought of installing a USB Hub etc ?? ?? ?

I usually find the correct way by :-
Trying to insert
reverse
try to insert
reverse
it fits.
Now I have NEVER found out why it will not fit the first time, but it usually takes those 3 tries.

Both have the join on the top!!!
But, my expansion card is the other way up - the join is underneath!

That's my usual system too, trouble is the insert part the other week fitted, but it didn't work. I spent a couple of minutes wondering why. (can hardly reach the back of my PC).
Learnt that USB devices work better when plugged into a USB port, rather than the Ethernet one next to them.
