Reopen Last Browsing Session - IE8 W7 32

After installing the latest Windows updates I forced a restart expecting all the tabs on IE8 to reopen but only one of them did.
(I use FF but SWMBO uses IE and I have lost her last session.)
Is there a setting somewhere I have missed to ensure it opens all previous tabs or does it simply not work the same way as FF?

IE does not store open tabs in the way that Firefox does. You'll have to try to use the history.
