'Renaming' links

I know this has been asked before (I think I did on the old SMF forums), but how do you turn say a link to this post into a one or two word hyperlink on these new-fangled boards?

Re: 'Renaming' links

Fix
If you use the full editor (not the quick reply) then press the chain button on the toolbar, in the 2nd box put the text you want

Re: 'Renaming' links

So that replaces the 'globe' thingy on the old SMF boards?

Thanks @HairyMcbiker

Re: 'Renaming' links

Right, thanks @HairyMcbiker, I've just done my first post after following you help, but found a small problem.

When I've renamed the link, I want to 'lose' that tag, so I can continue with normal text, but I don't seem to be able.Huh

I'm sure there must be a way, but I can't find it.

Sorry for seeming thick.

Re: 'Renaming' links

Yep seems hit an miss.
I tend to use
"name I want to use"<SPACE> select the "name" part and use the link as before, the trailing space usually stops the link overflowing, failing that a CR then a BS works as well.

Click in the linked text then again on the Chain icon then delete the URL from the box and press OK.
